F12berlinetta is the Most Powerful and Fastest Ferrari

Maranello has blown the covers off the successor to its 599 GTB Fiorano and a direct opponent of the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4. The car was rumored to be called the F620 GT but as it turns out, we will come to know it as the new F12berlinetta. Billed as the fastest and most powerful regular production Ferrari in history, the F12berlinetta sports a 6.3-liter naturally-aspirated V12 engine that produces 730HP (740PS), which translates to a specific output of 116HP per liter. It also delivers a peak torque of 690Nm or 508.9 lb-ft, 80 percent of which is available at just 2,500 rpm, while it can rev up to 8,700 rpm.
The 12-cylinder unit is linked to an F1 dual-clutch transmission with close gear ratios that drives the rear wheels.
Ferrari says that the F12berlinetta accelerates from 0-100 km/h (62mph) in 3.1 seconds and from zero to 200 km/h (12mph) in 8.5 seconds en route to a top speed in excess of 340km/h (211mph+) adding that it also completes a lap of the Fiorano circuit in 1.23", faster than any other Ferrari road car.
Even though it has 118-horses (!) more than the 612hp (620PS) 599 GTB Fiorano, Maranello claims a 30 percent reduction in fuel consumption over the 599's 16.7lt/100km and a significant cut in CO2 emissions, from 415g/km to 350g/km.
Measuring 4,618mm long, 1,942mm wide and 1,273mm tall, the new top Ferrari is 47mm shorter, 19mm narrower and 63mm lower than the model it replaces, while the Italian company said it rides on a shorter wheelbase, without announcing the precise figure.

Ferrari 599XX Evolution Comes with More Power and Less Weight

We're not even half way through the press days of the Tokyo Motor Show, yet we already have news from the next event in our automotive calendar, the 36th edition of the Bologna Motor Show in Italy (December 3 to 11) which will provide the venue for the unveiling of the updated 2012 Ferrari 599XX Evolution. The 599XX is track beast for a select few über rich of our world that was introduced at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show as replacement for the Enzo-based FXX.
The updated model features a number of technical improvements including an even more potent version of the Enzo-sourced V12 engine due to the adoption of side exhausts that allowed engineers to increase output to 750-horses at 9,000 rpm with a peak torque of 700Nm (516.3 lb-ft). In addition, Ferrari made the final gear ratio shorter to improve acceleration on technical, medium- to high-speed tracks.
The Italian company says that the non-homologated sports berlinetta also sports improved chassis dynamics thanks to an active aerodynamic package integrated with the vehicles’ electronic control systems.
The highlight of the aero package is an active rear wing design with two flaps that rotate electronically to adjust the downforce between the front and rear axles in relation to vehicle speed and the maneuver. According to Ferrari, the active rear wing is triggered automatically according to specific parameters which are integrated with the car’s other control functions (ESP, ABS, SCM and F1-Trac).
The 2012 599XX also gets a modified front splitter and a new rear diffuser featuring a larger surface area and redesigned fences and foot-plates. As a result of these changes, total downforce at 200 km/h (124mph) is boosted to 330 kg (727 pounds) when the flaps are open and 440kg (970 pounds) in the closed configuration.
Finally, the ultimate version of the 599 series gets a new set of Pirelli tires while Ferrari claims to have trimmed 35kg (77 lbs) off the original model.
According to the Italian automaker, the 599XX Evolution laps the Fiorano in just 1 minute and 15 seconds.

Woman Speeds of Ferrari Car

A very strange accident involving a yellow Corvette C6 and two more cars just took place in Norwood, Massachusetts. A witness told Boston's NewsCenter5 that the person responsible for the accident is an unnamed woman who "races cars for a living". And what did this female racing driver do, we hear you ask? Well, according to an eyewitness account, the woman in the Corvette stopped at a Chevrolet dealership in Norwood on Route 1 looking for a faster set of wheels. The dealer didn't have anything to offer her so she went over to a nearby dealership to test drive a Ferrari.
And here's where the story gets a bit hazy. The witness told reporters that "something happened at the Ferrari dealership" causing the woman to flip out and then race off in her Corvette only to lose control moments after and hit a pole before landing upside down.
The police said that the woman hit two other cars during the crash. The woman in the Corvette along with one person from one of the other vehicles involved in the crash were injured and taken to the hospital.

Formula 1: Brazilian GP Qualifying Results

In Abu Dhabi, Sebastian Vettel matched Nigel Mansell’s record of 14 pole positions in a single Formula 1 season, which stood for 19 years. In the final qualifying session of the season at the Brazilian track of Interlagos, he had his last chance to break it - at least for the current season. Which of course he did, consistently beating his teammate Mark Weber who will line up beside him on Sunday's starting grid.
"There has been quite some talk before the qualifying, before this weekend, about this particular record and I think the best thing was just not to think about it at all”, said Vettel after qualifying.
“Yesterday we did have sort of a rough start to the weekend where I wasn't 100% happy with the balance yet but then I think we made the right choices overnight and again going in to qualifying,” he added.
Despite topping the timing seats on Friday’s second free practice session, breaking Red Bull's domination on the other two, Lewis Hamilton did not perform as well in the official qualifier. He was 0.2 seconds slower than Jenson Button was in the other McLaren, and 0.562 seconds slower than Vettel.
Predictably, given the teams’ overall performance in 2011, Fernando Alonso’s Ferrari was in fifth place. Nico Rosberg was quick enough in practice to challenge the Spaniard, but eventually had to settle with beating the second Ferrari with Felipe Massa, as well as his team mate in Mercedes GP, Michael Schumacher, who couldn’t manage anything better than 10th place.
