Audi S5 Coupé an RS5 Look

German aftermarket firm Senner Tuning is revisiting the freshened up Audi S5 coupe with a new assortment of goods for the exterior and interior as well as its mechanical hardware. Senner's second take on the facelifted S5 (read about the first one here) brings a brawnier styling package that gives the coupe the look of its RS5 sibling through the use of a new front bumper with a carbon fiber spoiler and grille design, carbon fiber side skirts, a discreet boot lid spoiler and a new rear diffuser with two oval, instead of four quad tailpipes.
There's also a set of carbon fiber mirror caps, LEDs for the rear license plate, and new 20-inch alloy wheels shod in Vredestein Ultra Sessanta tires size 245/30R20 and 295/25R20 at the front and rear end, respectively.
For the interior, Senner Tuning added black and red Nappa leather surfaces to the seats and door panels together with red stitching, a comprehensive carbon fiber trim kit that covers the steering wheel, dashboard, doors and lower console, plus an R8-sourced flat-bottom steering wheel with shift paddles, and a DVD player.
In regular guise, the S5 features a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 rated for 328bhp (333PS) and 440Nm (324 lb-ft). The German brand's engineers managed to squeeze 429hp and a peak torque of 501Nm (369 lb-ft) out of the engine. By comparison, the RS5's V8 delivers 444hp (450PS) and a maximum torque of 430Nm (318 lb-ft).
An adjustable KW coilover suspension system and a power converter that is said to "sharpen the characteristic of the electronic accelerator pedal", complete the upgrades.
Senner Tuning will sell you a complete vehicle (based on a brand new S5 Coupe) for the paltry sum of €99,700 (US$127,000 at today's exchange rates).
The company is also offering the press car you see in the pictures with around 4,000km (about 2,500 miles) on the odometer for €69,990 (US$89,000), excluding sales tax, which in Germany, is 19 percent.
Then again, for €58,700 (US$74,800) you can get yourself inside a brand new S5 Coupe or better yet, for €78,200 (US$99,600), into a spanking new 444bhp RS5, instead of paying €20k more to buy an S5 that pretends to be an RS5…

Audi R8's Upcoming Facelift and 2014 Replacement

The first true supercar to be created by Audi, the R8, has won universal praise thanks to its handling, quality, every day usability and, in the V10-equipped model, performance numbers. Despite the fact that it wouldn’t seem out of place if it were launched today, the truth is that Audi’s mid-engined wonder is already five years old, having been introduced in 2006.
Therefore, its replacement is already being developed and is due in 2014, with the open-top Spyder model to follow the next year.
But first, the current R8 will receive an update in 2012. According to Car Magazine, the refreshed R8 will get a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox replacing the sequential six-speed unit, while the upgraded V10 will receive a small bump in power and the interior will sport the latest MMI multimedia interface.
The big news, as far as the first-generation R8 is concerned, is the launch of a limited-production electric version towards the end of 2012.
The British publication reports that the second generation R8 will differ in many ways from its predecessor. For one, the aluminum bodywork and chassis will be replaced by a new architecture which, while still aluminum-based, will also feature carbonfiber for the transmission tunnel, the B-posts and the rear firewall.
Total weight will be reduced by around 100 kg (220 lbs), while torsional rigidity will increase by 13 percent.
On the engine front, we won't see many changes as Audi is said to continue with its two naturally aspirated units. The base version will still be powered by a 4.2 V8, with its output bumped from 420 to 450HP, and the top version by a 5.2-liter V10 with 550HP.
However, down the road Audi may switch to the new turbocharged V8 that was recently unveiled in the Audi S7 and Bentley Continental GT, probably with a hike in power to 600HP.
As previously reported, the second generation R8 and the Gallardo's replacement will make use of Audi's MSS (Modular Sports car System) architecture, while the third generations of both models will employ a new platform developed primarily by Porsche.

Audi R8 TDI

Audi R8 TDI Le Mans
Here's everything you need to know about the Audi R8 TDI Le Mans including a great high-res picture gallery! A must see.
The V12 TDI is closely related to the engine in the Audi R10, the two-time Le Mans winner ñ so it catapults the Audi R8 into supercar terrain concerning performance too. It sprints from zero to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) in just 4.2 seconds and its top speed is well over 300 km/h (186.41 mph). The peak torque, reached at only 1,750†rpm, paves the way for effortless acceleration that is unrivaled even at this level.

The new V12 TDI belongs to Audi's family of V engines but has the ideal included angle for this engine type of 60 degrees between cylinder banks. Its highlights include the new chain drive layout that includes the two newly developed high-pressure pumps for the common rail injection system.

Its sound is as thrilling as you'd expect in a sports car of this caliber. For all the subtle smoothness that typifies this design principle, the twelve-cylinder unit is full-bodied and equipped with energetic overtones that make no secret of its performance potential.

Starting at $33,175, it offers an interior that is beautiful and comfortable; face styling that is subtle, yet tempting and sporty; and, with Quattro all-wheel drive, driving dynamics that whole for any climate. Our inspection car came with the base, 2.0-liter turbocharged four-tube engine mated to a silky smooth six-measure directions transmission. It is optioned out as a Premium Plus reel, taking a $3550 jolt in pament with some nice amenities like Xenon headlights with the stress grabbing LED daytime-running lights, and heated facade seats. Also mention is a $1475 merriment combination that adds 18-inch wheels, merriment suspension, and merriment seats. This combination is well worth the opulence , the car rides firmly and provides superb cornering even with Michelin winter tires mounted. The back seats provide fat room for two adults to fit comfortably and a deep trunk allows for plenty of storage. If you can preoccupy from optioning the 2010 Audi A4 over $40,000, it is really a nice value.
